Tanja is a German photographic and multi-media artist, based in Melbourne, Australia.

Tanja is a founding partner of bIld art&architecture. Established in 2007 with Ben Milbourne, bIld is a cross disciplinary collaboration focusing on the interplay between the image and spatial experience. Using hybridized techniques from their respective backgrounds to facilitate experiments in the reciprocal transition from 2-dimensions to 3-dimensions, and explorations of contemporary attitudes towards verisimilitude (truth-likeness) in image making versus space making.

Tanja grew up in Africa, Indonesia, Peru and Germany. In 1997 Tanja immigrated to Australia, where she studied visual arts, and has consequently lived and worked in Sydney, Berlin, Rotterdam and Melbourne. During the past three years Tanja has exhibited in Melbourne, Sydney, Rotterdam, Paris, Chennai and Berlin

Tanja studied fine art and new media at the University of Sydney's, graduating with a Bachelor of fine arts 2001.
