Three Projects

Out of this disjointed world of online collaboration between remote artists (where distance is the only constant), the following projects emerge….

Artists: Anna Tautfest, Debbie White, Miriam Mlecek

What happens when movement becomes difficult? When escape from (or to) home becomes impossible? Limitations on global travel that will come about due to the change in availability of resources, subsequent shifts in the political and social environment and rising costs become the inspiration for the development of the “Me-In-Front-Of City Tours”.

Artists: Jordana Maisie, Muse me, Nick Mariette

If in the future, long distance physical transit becomes frozen, we will be left with the Internet as both transit lounge and destination. Conversation Two explores the place and non-place, inside and outside, the myriad of digital portals through to the physical others we long to visit. Our installation materialises the inevitable disjoint in travel - physical or digital; tensions between longings for elsewhere and the pleasure of the immediate.

Artists: Gaby Bila-Günther, Gracia & Louise (Gracia Haby & Louise Jennison), Steve Smart

Dialogues about imaginary traveling, as well domestic & social duties that occur in our daily lives. The poet/writer in Berlin during the winter season, inside the studio, writing and taking videos/photos of site-specific performances, about managing the daily duties, the freelance work, development of artistic work, postcards of imaginary travels, interaction with visitors & studio colleagues, performances and cultural activities with Berlin based artists & performers, planned at the studio, Wonderbar.
In return dialogues with colleagues in Australia during the summer season who responded to activities & posed questions, received & sent online postcards from their imaginary travels, photos/videos of their daily domestic routines, artistic development, emotional upheaval, home activities, work, guests and social events in their backyards.
